Fruit & Vegetable

Being a food business consultant we support your food industry by providing different types of services such as food testing, water testing, shelf life testing, new product development, food recipe development, and guidance for food packaging & labeling.

At least nine different families of fruits and vegetables exist, each with potentially hundreds of different plant compounds that are beneficial to health.

  • Fruits and vegetables contain important vitamins, minerals and plant chemicals. They also contain fibre.
  • These include vitamins A (beta-carotene), C and E, magnesium, zinc, phosphorous and folic acid. Folic acid may reduce blood levels of homocysteine, a substance that may be a risk factor for coronary heart disease.
  • Fruits and vegetables are low in fat, salt and sugar
  • Vegetables and fruit contain phytochemicals, or plant chemicals
  • Fruit is the sweet, fleshy, edible part of a plant. It generally contains seeds. Fruits are usually eaten raw, although some varieties can be cooked
