FOOD SAFETY AUDITS

Food safety audits are organised activities that aim to evaluate the level of food safety management system of a food. Food safety audits are an essential part of the food industry; a report from the food safety expert will reflect the status of a food business and show its approach to food safety.

To strengthen the food safety surveillance system, FSSAI has envisaged audits of Food Business Operators through Private Auditing Agencies. 

Food safety audits focus on key areas of your operations such as your food safety management system, food storage, food preparation, sanitation, facility design, and employee hygiene. Satisfactory Audits will lead to less frequent regulatory inspections by Central or State Licensing Authority except the regulatory sampling. This will strengthen food safety surveillance system and encourage self-compliance while at the same time assuring safe food to the consumers.
