Defining The Areas (Food Label)

1. PDP (Principal Display Panel)

This is the area most likely to be seen by a buyer at the time of purchase. For a rectangular container like a cereal box, the PDP area is 40 percent of the product of the height the product of height times the width. For a cylindrical container like a can, the PDP area is 20 percent of the total area

2. Information Panel

The information panel is the panel immediately to the sides or backside of PDP where other information such as instructions, Manufacturing date, cost, net quantity, nutritional facts are mentioned.

Food labels help consumers can get knowledge about the food they consider buying. By the information provided on food labels (such as expiry dates, handling instructions, and allergy warnings) can help consumers prevent unnecessary food-borne illness and allergic reactions.

This also gives them the calorific value of each food and determines whether a product is vegetarian or nonvegetarian.
